SEPTEMBER 2010 September 24 - 25, 2010 46th Annual Beef-a-rama - Friday eve dance 6-9:30pm. Saturday 9am - Rump Roast Run sponsored by the Lakeland Area Rotary Clubs. The downtown beef cook-offs begin bright and early in the morning along with live music and other tasty treats. Early sandwich sales begin at 1pm. Other all day activities include a craft show at Torpy Park from 9am to 5pm, kids activities, and of course the famous parade of beef at 2:45 down main street. October 1 - 3 NORTHWOODS FALL ART TOUR The Northwoods Art Tour is a self-guided tour of 32 artists' studios, many of which are rarely open to the public. The purpose of the tours are to engage the public in the art making process, and many artists encourage people to try their hand at the medium. June 2011 June 4 & 5 WISCONSIN FREE FISHING WEEKEND Every year, the first consecutive Saturday and Sunday in June are designated as Free Fishing Weekend when you can fish without a license throughout the state of Wisconsin. All the waters of the state are open, including state waters of the Great Lakes and rivers bordering Wisconsin. Residents and nonresidents of all ages can fish without a fishing license (or trout or salmon stamps) over these two days. However, all other fishing regulations (length limits, bag limits, etc.) apply. Remember, kids 15 and under never need a license.
